Amakhosi Unveils New Assistant Coach

Cedric Kaze has officially joined Kaizer Chiefs as their new assistant coach.

On Thursday, 17 October, Amakhosi confirmed in a press statement that they had acquired the services of Kaze, who previously worked alongside head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

“Burundi-born Kaze brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the set-up, having previously worked alongside Nabi at Young Africans, where they achieved significant success together, winning six trophies in two seasons,” the statement reads.

“His tactical expertise and experience in various coaching roles makes him a perfect fit to complement Nabi’s vision for the team.”

Kaze began his coaching career with Burundi’s national teams in 2007 as an assistant for the U17 team. He later served as an assistant for the senior team, plus coached the U20s and U23s squads, until he moved to Canada in 2015.

In Canada, he initially worked at a youth football training institution before joining the FC Barcelona Academy, where he spent two-and-a-half years.

He has also held roles as head coach and technical director in domestic football leagues across Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania.

With Kaze by his side, let’s hope Nabi can enhance Kaizer Chiefs’ prospects in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season!
